  5. Which pairing communicates most honestly? Which avoids the hardest truth longest?

Jealousy and compersion

  1. Where does Stefan’s jealousy protect something real, and where does it grow from comparison?
  2. Which moments of compersion feel generous? Which also contain fear?
  3. Does the novel treat jealousy as a problem to solve, a feeling to hear, or both?
  4. How do Olivia and Michael interpret Stefan’s mixed reactions differently?

Consent and changing boundaries

  1. Which agreement works as intended, and which one fails to anticipate emotional attachment?
  2. When do the characters ask permission, and when do they rely on assumption?
  3. Does every character have enough information to make an honest choice at the moments that matter?
  4. Which boundary change feels earned through conversation? Which arrives through consequence?

Marriage, family, and the ending

  1. What does the marriage mean by the end that it did not mean at the beginning?
  2. Does the final arrangement resolve the central conflict or transform it into a new responsibility?
  3. Whose needs are most protected by the family decision? Whose require the most trust?
  4. Did the ending feel romantic, provocative, idealistic, or deliberately complicated?
  5. What conversation do you imagine the three characters needing next?

  1. Which part of the story was compelling because it was safely fictional?
  2. Did you identify with the same character? Where did your reactions differ?
  3. Which conversation in the novel would you rewrite, and what would you want said clearly?
